Cybersecurity Workshop for Small Business – Kendall Yards

August 15 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am

- $40

Experts are seeing a trend in hackers focusing their efforts on small to medium-sized businesses because their security systems are easier to penetrate. Hackers who target small businesses may be trying to get personal information about that company’s employees or clients, including social security numbers or credit card information. They might also be trying to exploit the vulnerabilities of small business computer systems to gain entry to larger, even more lucrative targets.

In 2016, the average cost to a business in the United States after a data breach was $221 per customer whose data had been exposed. – Ponemon Institute

Do your systems have enough protection? Where do you begin? Come to our community workshop to find the knowledge and resources your business needs to lower its risk of a data breach.

To help businesses manage and protect sensitive data, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has created the cybersecurity framework, which we will cover in this workshop.

A workbook, and Cybersecurity Toolkit with a Written Information Security Plan template are included.
