Marisa provides training and one-on-one business advising to emerging entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses in Skagit and Island Counties.
Originally from a small town in Arizona, current events have called her to return to rural to help build community at the grass roots.
In her past roles, both as an administrator, consultant and small business owner, Marisa leverages her knowledge of inclusive practices, human resource management, marketing, operations management, budgeting and systems architecture in order to increase efficiencies in the areas of diversity engagement.
Her personal experiences working alongside Archbishop Desmond Tutu, extensive travel experience circumnavigating the world in 2010, and expertise in the globalization of business, add to her orientation towards being a leader in the creation of inclusive space and organizations committed to inclusion.
Marisa holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California, an MS in Business Management from Northern Arizona University and BS in Agribusiness from Arizona State University.
The Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship (CIE), in partnership with the Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) offers accessible and inclusive first step business training, advising and support to emerging entrepreneurs and early-stage microenterprises in rural and underserved communities throughout Washington State.
