SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.—The Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, to celebrate the opening of the new SBDC Lead Center and advising offices at The Quarry in Spokane Valley.
The Quarry is the Spokane Conservation District’s new multi-tenant facilities at on 8th Avenue and the Washington SBDC has become the anchor tenant in The Aspen Building.
Sheryl McGrath, state director of the Washington SBDC, said she is excited to welcome small business owners, community members and civic and business leaders to the event. “We are excited to share these beautiful new facilities with our stakeholders here in Spokane County and across all of Eastern Washington,” she said.

The Washington SBDC network includes more than 40 business advisors working in communities across the state to help small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs start, grow or buy/sell a business.
Over the past ten years, SBDC advisors in Washington state have provided one-to-one assistance to more than 17,000 small business owners and those SBDC clients have credited the SBDC with helping them access more than $836 million in capital, start 1,626 businesses and create or save nearly 20,000 jobs.
The Aspen Building at The Quarry will house the SBDC network’s administrative offices, two SBDC certified business advisors and the market intelligence research team, comprised of university students from across the region.
The Washington SBDC is a cooperative program between Washington State University and the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide no-cost, confidential, expert business advising to any small business owner or aspiring entrepreneur in nearly any industry and at any stage of business development. The network is part of the national America’s SBDC program and is the country’s oldest and most respected technical assistance program for small business growth.
