BELLEVUE, Wash.—The Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has named Dayo Oyetuga to the SBDC business advisor position in Bellevue. As an SBDC business advisor, Oyetuga provides confidential, no-cost, expert advising to entrepreneurs and small business owners who want to start, grow or buy/sell a business.
Oyetuga has more than 15 years’ experience in business consulting, innovation strategy, and organizational leadership with a focus on small business transformation, operational efficiency and innovation strategy. He has founded and managed multiple businesses and advised both startup and growth-stage ventures.
“Dayo is as personable as he is skilled in small business development,” said Washington SBDC State Director Sheryl McGrath, “and that’s what makes him such an effective business advisor and an asset to our organization.
“When business owners meet with Dayo, they can be sure that he will take the time to learn about their specific business, their challenges, their immediate goals and their dreams for the future,” she said. “He has a passion for helping business owners thrive and succeed on their own terms.”
Oyetuga joins more than 40 other SBDC advisors in Washington state who provide one-to-one, no-cost, confidential advising to entrepreneurs and business owners in just about any industry and at any stage of business development. While SBDC clients typically work with one primary business advisor over the course of weeks, months or years, the collaborative culture of the SBDC means that clients have access to the skills and expertise of the entire network.
In 2024, more than 3,500 small business owners or aspiring entrepreneurs met one-on-one with a Washington SBDC business advisor whose only agenda was to help them succeed.
Oyetuga says that his advising approach is grounded in change management principles—guiding business owners or aspiring business owners through strategic planning, implementation and growth, with practical, step-by-step, action-oriented recommendations. Oyetuga is known for his collaborative, people-first style and his ability to translate complexity into clarity.
“For me, advising is about helping people translate ideas into impact,” Oyetuga said. “Every business has a story, and my role is to help owners align their vision with practical strategies that move them forward.”
Oyetuga is a graduate of the University of Washington and is a certified Change Management Specialist. He earned a Six Sigma Green Belt certification and has a certificate in Design Thinking and Innovation Strategy from Harvard Business School.
Oyetuga’s office is located at 40 Lake Bellevue Drive, Suite 116. He is available to meet with business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the region in person or via Zoom.
The Washington SBDC is funded through a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and Washington State University, which has been the statewide host of the SBDC since 1980. About half the funding for SBDC advising comes from the SBA and the other half is from state, county and municipal governments, institutions of higher education, economic development organizations and civic and business groups. Oyetuga’s position in Bellevue is funded by the City of Bellevue and the SBA.
