SPOKANE, Wash.—U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Region X Administrator Apollo Fuhriman will be visiting the Washington SBDC offices in Spokane on Friday.
Fuhriman, who was appointed to the post in March 2025 by President Donald J. Trump, has a long history of small business advocacy in the Pacific Northwest.
As the Region X administrator, Fuhriman is responsible for supervising the SBA’s district offices in Boise, Portland, Seattle and Anchorage. SBA regional administrators also help promote the President’s messages throughout their region.
“President Trump and his administration stand alongside America’s small businesses and are implementing programs to clear the way for their success,” Fuhriman said in a recent story in the Idaho Statesman.
“I really appreciate the work SBDC business advisors do to assist entrepreneurs who are striving to achieve the American dream,” he said. “It’s great to see entrepreneurs undertaking what begins as an idea and having the SBDC there to help grow the dream into reality.”
Sheryl McGrath, state director of the Washington SBDC, said she is excited to host the new administrator at the SBDC’s offices at the Spokane Conservation District Quarry Campus in Spokane Valley.
“I’m excited to share with Administrator Fuhriman our SBDC’s commitment to a vibrant, sustainable economy and our focus on helping small businesses thrive in our region and across the state,” said McGrath.
The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, May 16 at the Quarry Campus, 4422 E. Eighth Ave, Spokane Valley. Staff from U.S. Rep. Michael Baumgartner’s Spokane field office will also attend the meeting.
The SBA empowers entrepreneurs and small business owners with the resources and support they need to start, grow or expand their businesses, or to recover from a declared disaster. It delivers services through an extensive network of SBA field offices and partnerships with public and private organizations.
The Washington SBDC is a network of nearly 50 business advisors and two international trade business advisors who provide one-to-one, no-cost, confidential advising to entrepreneurs and small business owners who want to start, grow or buy/sell a business.
The Washington SBDC is hosted by Washington State University and is governed by a cooperative agreement between WSU and the SBA, which provides about half of SBDC funding.
