CLE ELUM, Wash.—The Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce and the Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are pleased to announce that Katie Willet, an entrepreneur with more than a decade of experience in project management, business management and human resources, is the new business advisor in Kittitas County.
“The Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce is proud to host SBDC Certified Business Advisors at our Cle Elum location, offering high-quality technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Kittitas County,” said Amy McGuffin, President/CEO of Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. “This collaboration ensures our local business community has direct access to expert guidance, helping to foster innovation, resilience, and long-term economic growth in our region.”
Willet joins more than 40 other SBDC advisors in Washington state who provide one-to-one, no-cost, confidential advising to entrepreneurs and business owners in just about any industry and at any stage of business development. While SBDC clients typically work with one primary business advisor, the collaborative culture of the SBDC means that clients have access to the skills and expertise of the entire network.
“Katie’s previous experience in business development and project management have set her up to be an extremely effective SBDC business advisor,” said Sheryl McGrath, state director of the Washington SBDC. “Her attention to detail, her ability to focus on what matters, and her methodical approach to problem solving make her an excellent resource for small business owners who are looking for information, guidance or a sounding board to talk through options.
Willet, who was raised in rural communities and now lives in Ellensburg with her family, has a deep understanding of the unique challenges and strengths of rural communities.
With professional experience in bookkeeping and office management, Willet brings practical insight and real-world perspective to her work. She enjoys empowering business owners by connecting them with the tools, resources, and knowledge they need to grow and succeed. Willet is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the communities she serves, one business at a time.
The Washington SBDC is part of the nation’s oldest and largest publicly supported business advising service. It is hosted by Washington State University and receives funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration, WSU and other institutions of higher education, economic development agencies, business groups and civic organizations. Willet’s position in Cle Elum is supported by the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce.
